Primeo Energie (formerly Elektra Birseck Münchenstein) celebrated its centenary in 1997. At that time, the Basel-Landschaft energy supplier transformed its former 1932 meter workshop into an electricity museum at its headquarters in Münchenstein. Since then, some 10,000 people, mainly teachers with their classes, have visited the "Lernwelt Energie" exhibition and electrical workshop every year, the only one of its kind in Switzerland. For the 125th anniversary in 2022, the existing electricity museum and exhibition were renovated and complemented by a new circular building. Since autumn 2022, it has housed the "Primeo Energie Kosmos" science and discovery center.
